The correspondence includes discussion of Albert Speer, a list of cities to be represented in the Roman Fragments and news from Hamilton Finlay about forthcoming work and exhibitions. Sketches of the garden in pencil and ink with a list of conceptual themes; a typescript list titled 'Cultural time' with manuscript annotations and program for the Foursquare Room.

Ink drawings, watercolours and typescript commentary by Ian Hamilton Finlay of proposals for the garden. The designs include: Sundial, Benches, Herms, Obelisk and Roman Fragments.
